1. What are IPIX 360° images and how are they created?
IPIX ® 360° images give viewers the power to step inside the picture, looking up, down, and all around.from floor to ceiling, earth to sky, in any direction. Viewers can completely immerse themselves in the particular environment. 360° images are created by capturing two opposing photographs, called "hemispheres," with a fisheye lens. IPIX patented technology re-maps the images, seaming them into an immersive whole. 360° images can then be linked together, linked to traditional photographs and renderings, enhanced with audio or other file types, or incorporated into other development environments.

4. Do I need a particular version of a Web browser to view 360° images?
Although we recommend that you use the latest versions of Web browsers available, our range of virtual tours will display universally on all Internet browsers.
PC Users:
For the best results, we recommend you upgrade your browser to at least Internet Explorer 4.01, Netscape 4.05 (or more recent versions) on Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP or NT4. These provide the best support for the Java programming language used for our tours with full features. If your browser cannot view the full-featured tour, the basic version of the same tour will be served to your browser.
Mac Users:
For the best results, we recommend you upgrade your browser to at least Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.5 on MAC OS 8.5-9, or Safari on OS 10. These provide the best support for the Java programming language used for our tours with full features.

6. What instructions should I provide to my Web site visitors when I use the Java Applet?
When using the Java Applet to embed your images, your site visitors aren't required to download any special software or plugins.
However if they are having trouble viewing the image they may need to update their Java Runtime Environment which can be easily done so here:

8. Help. I can't view the IPIX images in a web page.
Many sites use the IPIX java applet viewer to display their images. If you do NOT have java support installed, this image may just show up as a gray box, sometimes with a red X in the upper left corner. If this is the case, visit http://www.java.com/en/download/ and download and install their Java VM plug-in for your browser.
Alternatively, the site may require you to have the IPIX plugin installed. You can download this here: http://infomedia.ipix.com/support/download/plugin.shtml

9. Help. I can't get the IPIX images to display on my web page / server.
If you are using the IPIX® Java Viewer 5.0, make sure you have the .jar file in the same folder as your html page and the IPIX image and that these files are referenced correctly in your code.
Windows 2003 Server users:
Starting with Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft has added a new security feature which requires that all file types the server is going to host be registered with the server via MIME types. If you have recently migrated from an earlier server to a 2003 platform, you may notice your tours do not work until these MIME types are added to the server's configuration.
The MIME type info is as follows:
application/x-ipscript file extension=ips
application/x-ipix file extension=ipx
Update the server with this information and restart the server so the changes take effect. Your IPIX images will now be delivered as they should be!
